Her film career began at age 20, with a role in Luis Bunuel's 1977 Cet obscur objet du desir. She hit it big in 1981, when her performance as Melina opposite Roger Moore as 007 in For Your Eyes Only enshrined her one of the most unforgettable Bond women ever. (As chance would have it, she was later featured in the 1984's Nemo, starring Jason Connery, Sean Connery's son.)
